Sammy Stephens has a background in sports marketing, restaurants and real estate. After graduating from the University of Georgia, Sammy worked for ten years in the offices of minor league hockey. Living in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Phoenix, Lake Charles, LA and Austin, Sammy worked his way up from intern, to staff member and director at the team level, to an executive staff member at the league office, and finally as General manager of a league franchise.
After working in sports for over ten years, Sammy & his family relocated to Raleigh where they owned and operated a successful sports bar near NC State University from 2000 - 2018 which continues to flourish today.
In addition to operating the restaurant, Sammy and his wife Stacey, started Centennial Land Company. They have developed and acquired multiple student housing rental properties for over 19 years. Their focus is buying or developing premium properties located close to NC State's Centennial Campus. During the past 19 years, Centennial Land Company has developed multiple properties including the 29 unit Centennial Park Townhomes (87 beds), 4 unit Centennial Edge Townhomes (16 beds) and most recently Centennial Edge (20 beds). All properties are located only steps from NCSU's Centennial Campus. Additionally, Stacey and Sammy own and manage over 45 buildings, and over 150 "beds" --all in the immediate NC State University-Centennial Campus area.
Stacey Stephens graduated with a masters of education from the University of Georgia & taught middle school for over ten years. After moving to Raleigh, Stacey co-owned the sports bar with Sammy and worked behind the scenes taking care of the sports bar infrastructure, from scheduling and accounting, to all facets involved in daily operations.
Stacey handles the day-to-day operations of accounting, bookkeeping and rental property management for Centennial Land Company.
Stacey & Sammy have three children. Connor Stephens, a NCSU graduate, Tyler Stephens, an ECU graduate, and Melissa Stephens, attending Flagler College.
